Workers’ Rights

From the earliest days of Public Citizen's work with reformers in the Teamsters Union, we have litigated cases about the legal issues involving employment. We have sought to preserve workers' access to the courts and to administrative agencies, opposing contentions that claims against employers can only be pursued through arbitration. We have also defended employees' right to free speech and a fair workplace, and we have challenged agency rulings rejecting important employee rights. In addition, we have brought cases seeking to protect democratic procedures and due process within unions and in the workplace.
