Campaign Finance and Election Laws

Public Citizen has long fought for strong campaign finance reform legislation to ensure that our elections represent the will of the people rather than the influence of moneyed interests. The Litigation Group carries on this fight in the courts by defending those laws when they are challenged and by seeking vigorous enforcement of their terms by the Federal Election Commission. In particular, we have participated in most of the major Supreme Court cases involving campaign finance issues, submitting briefs either on behalf of Public Citizen itself or as attorneys taking part in the representation of the congressional sponsors of campaign finance reform laws.  To read more about our cases in this area, click here.
